Winery Olympia Land Estate
The winery Olympia Land Estate is located in a small village, Koskina, just a couple kilometers from the heart of Ancient Olympia. At the point where our ancestors 150 years ago began cultivating raisins and olive trees. Today, Olympia Land Estate is a family winery that started producing small quantities of quality wines in the early 2000s, while since 2008 it has been creating the modern winery of the estate. Following the family tradition in a blessed and sacred place, Olympia, the cradle of culture and the Olympic ideal.
Once upon a time, the ancient Greeks of the region made wine and organized symposiums, today we produce quality wines inspired by the mores and traditions of that time.
THE VINEYARD
The history of the vineyard of the estate begins in 1985 with the revival of 35 acres of a family vineyard situated in Koskina (Ancient Olympia) and mainly consisting of the Moschofilero and Roditis varieties. The family Liarommati get used to make wine with the traditional way, such as pressing the grapes with the feet. It was like a festival because all the relatives arrived there to assist the family with the harvesting and with all the proccess of the wine-making. Imagine all the women of the family into the big stoned winepress to “dance” on the grapes until to gather all the must (juice) in the wooden barrels.In our days the field of 35 acres expanded and the Kladeos river flows through the privately-owned vineyard, which now covers an area of 100 acres. This area now is planted with the local white varieties of Asyrtiko (Asserteko), Malagouzia (Malayousia) ,the noble red variety of Agiorgitiko (Ayioryeteko) and Avgoustiatis (Avyousteates), the French variety of Chardonnay Blanc as well as the foreign varieties Merlot and Syrah. The altitude of the vineyards is 120 meters. In this area there is a special microclimate which protects the vines from the extreme weather condition and has as result a stable quality production every year.

Our Estate as the first certified visitable winery in Greece has the opportunity to host organized and individual visitors – wine lovers, giving them the opportunity to taste fine wines, olive oil and olives of our production. Wine tasting during summer months can be done in the green garden of the winery or in the beautiful area of the stone mansion. Our property is properly designed so that people with special needs can visit it.
Wine tourism for us is a way to show our visitors – wine lovers our love and passion for the cultivation of vineyards and the creation of special wines.

When we have groups or individual visitors we try to please and serve all of them. Priority is given to visitors who have booked for a tour, the other visitors that come without a reservation could be part of the groups or could wait for a while until to start an other tour.
